I just went for it. I had a few drinks and started free hand painting this. I've been wanting to paint a mural like this for awhile now. It's way better than I thought it would be. I love my bedroom.

10/04/15 Visited the Art Institute of Chicago and saw work from Charles Ray on display. (The first major exhibition devoted to celebrated Chicago-born, Los Angeles–based sculptor Charles Ray since a mid-career retrospective in 1998, this display of 19 works fills the second floor of the Modern Wing and flows into the museum’s South Garden, presenting a full range of Ray’s most recent achievements with particular emphasis on figurative experiments.)
However, still some of my favorites are Monet's water lilies and water lily pond.
So excited because my cousin is due with twin girls next month. I have been eager to crochet a project again and here is the result of too many X-files reruns and coffee. Both are bug themed and fleece with a crocheted trim. They are modeled off of the Black Hawks blanket I made my niece this past Spring.

Today, create an art journal page about or related to something from the beach. Art Journal #30 - Water Works - Our bodies, like the earth, are made up primarily of water. The sink, the ocean, our tears, lakes...Honor water today by creating an art journal spread about or using water.

Stretch your creativity today by using mainly paint and scraps (or paint and scraps only!). Art Journal Challenge #28 - Office Supplies - Office supplies can be so much fun to add to an art journal spread! There's so many fun things to choose from - rulers, pens, post-it notes, folders, tabs, hole punches and tons more! Art Journal #25 - Measure - We measure things in weight, height, length, time and much more. We measure people, things, success and even love. Today, feature something that has measure in your art journal page. Art Journal #26 - Black - Black, Night Darkness. For today's journal page, embrace the darkness.
Art Journal #23 - School. We spend at least 13 years of our lives there - more, if we go on to higher education. We learn, make friends, play sports or join activities. Today, create an art journal page about school or an element of school. (I tore pages out of my accounting textbook from college for this journal.) Art Journal #24 Stencils! There are a zillion ways to use them. For today's art journal spread/page, use stencils in a way that is new to you. (I only have circle and lettering stencils.)
This weeks art journals were about Friendships and Metal Mania. I am determined to finish the whole 15 week challenge! Art Journal Challenge # 21 - Friendship. Friends. Comrades in Arms. Friends add meaning to our lives. They are there for us during good and bad times. They let us lean on them and laugh with them. Today, celebrate friendship in your art journal. Art Journal Challenge # 22 - Metal Mania, Whether it is heavy metal music or aluminum foil, metal is everywhere. Use metal ON your art journal spread OR create a spread about metal today.
These photographs are of my niece Jax Marie and Jamie Marie. The suitcase and rug used in the photographs were my great grandmothers. (The suitcase my grandmothers' mother used when she came here from Germany and the rug is my other grandmothers which she made from old t-shirts.) Jax was really well behaved and seemed to enjoy being outdoors for the shoot. She will be a natural camper.
